CELOSIA CRISTATA OR CRESTED MIX CELOSIA OR COCK'S COMB
Sow seeds in a rich soil flower bed in the springtime, water generously, and let seedlings grow to about 6" tall, then transfer to a rich soil flower bed, spacing seedlings 6" apart. Grow and thrive best under full sunshine in moderately warm to hot areas. Water generously early in the morning and in the evening. These have bright fuschia color stalks, stems, leaves, and flowers. Grow to about 2' - 3' tall. They start blooming in the early part of summer. Beautiful blooms make excellent cut flowers or garden treasures as the flowers just keep growing every day and keep their beautiful bright fuschia color even when the leaves have already dried out in the fall. The biggest bloom I had this past summer was 7" long and 5 & 1/2" wide. One single bloom will give you plenty of seeds for next planting season, and plenty to give away!!! The flowers have no scent but they surely attract many birds, butterflies, and bees. These flowers will bring life and wildlife to your garden. For best results, plant as many as possible in a big flowerbed.
